About Me

Welcome, my name is Mary G. Sanchez. I am a licensed psychotherapist in the state of California. License number 115485.  I am the founder of Monarca Therapy. I specialize in maternal mental health. Over the years I have worked in a variety of settings such as private practice, school based mental health, non-profits, and family visitation centers. I’ve provided groups related to trauma, attachment and parenting. Before being a therapist, I worked at the hospital as a newborn hearing screener in the mother and baby unit. I used to love how behind every room was a story, and how each person made that room their own. As a therapist, I now have the privilege to work with mothers and witness their healing journey. 

I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University Channel Island (CSUCI), and a Master’s degree, in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy, at California Lutheran University. I have completed the requirements to become a certified perinatal mental health professional (PMH-C). I frequently attend trainings in the area of perinatal mental health, to provide quality care. 

Reaching out to a therapist can be scary. I myself have also been in therapy. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my children, cooking, and getting some self care. I enjoy traveling, taking pictures and trying different foods.
